Developmental math learning trajectories + a printable guide to prompting questions.
One thing to know about us as educators is that we consider ourselves generalists. We borrow the term from David Epstein who wrote the book Range about the benefits of being a generalist in comparison to a specialist.
But one challenge that comes with being a generalist educator is knowing the developmental progressions of many domains and knowing how to nudge a child toward deeper understanding.
So when we come across resources that lay out developmental progressions in clear, color-coded (!!) ways, we get excited and we can’t wait to share them with you.
These learning trajectories cover 20 different areas of math from birth to grade 3. There are definitions, explanations, and resources to explore. We took 11 of those math areas and created a quick prompting guide for you to print out, below, but you can dig wayyy into this resource if you’d like.

Love!! And YES to color coding. 😂
